Loftleidir Icelandic takes delivery of the first B767
The aircraft landed at Keflavik airport yesterday & is the first of its kind in Icelandair's fleet. Loftleidir Icelandic will lease the aircraft from Icelandair and use it for various projects.To begin with, it will be used in Loftleiðir Icelandic's new assignment for the Portuguese airline Yes and will operate between Portugal and South-America.
This fall the aircraft will operate between Japan and Iceland. The aircraft is operated by Icelandair and Icelandair crew works on all Loftleidir Icelandic assignments. The Boeing 767 is similiar to the Boeing 757 making training and operation easier.
In addition to the B767, Icelandair operates 12 B757 aircrafts, where of 7 are used in scheduled operation ,
one Cargo freighter and 4 aircrafts that are used in Charter assignments on behalf Loftleidir Icelandic.
